July 14 Is it really that longOhh Err misis.
I can't believe that I haven't done this since February. Mind you, there's a lot been going on. I've set up my website www.universalwarmth.co.uk m and I've set up the wifes as well. www.wunceawick.com . Both worth a visit.
We've just come back from holiday. We went to South Wales, as thats where the woman is from. I might post some pics later. It's good to be able to get out and about after my illness, but having someting like that makes you realise what is important in life. Thats it for now. More later. February 09 Reiki TrainingOK, So I decided to go for it, and found a local Master to train me in the use of Reiki. I found Lynda, who I initially saw listed on the Reiki Federation website, and I also worked with people who knew her, so I had a good reputation to work with. I also spoke to her on the phone, and it seemed that we got on well. She also practices the more traditional Japanese style Reiki, which is very simple and uncomplicated.
The Western style of Reiki is cluttered with mystical symbolism, and in my opinion, has too many fiddly bits which don't appear to add to the efficacy of the treatment. To each his (or her) own, and it doesn't do for us all to be the same. But I think that there is a lot to be said for simplicity.
So I went through my first part of training, and am now certified as "Shoden" or 1st level Reiki. I will wait at least 3 months to get used to my new way of life before progressing further.
I have experirenced what is sometimes known as "Reiki Flu", or a general unwellness that sometimes happens as the channels are cleared. I also had several powerful emotional reactions to some of the empowerments and treatment sessions I did over the training period.
this is fairly common, but this is rarely mentioned on any of the web sites, or in any of the books you may read prior to taking training. So, if you are considering taking up Reiki, be warned.
More about my experiences later. February 06 More about ReikiSo I decided that I would look back on my life and do something relating to the happiest time in my life. I have to admit, although I loved the time I spent as a Jessops Manager, I was happiest when in the Health Service. However,I would not like to go back to it, as it's even worse now that when I left 12 years ago.
I decided that i would look to train in some sort of complimentary therapy.
The trouble is that there are so many, and most of them fall into three broad groups.
1. Beauty therapies. such as Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy, and Hot Stone treatment.
2. Strange stuff. Dont even go there. I saw a web site dedicated to stored nasal mucous therapy. And I think they were serious !!
3. Accepted therapies, such as Acupressure, Reflexology, and Reiki.
I decided on Reiki, but thought that I might have problems being an Atheist, as this is a spiritual healing method.
To see how I overcome this, please see my next blog. February 05 ReikiHi there,
I haven't blogged for a while, but now I feel that I need to start again.
If you read some of the previous entries, you may have noticed that I am - or was - the most hard nosed non spritiual Athiest that every was. Apart from Isaac Asimov or Possibly Bertrand Russell.
I now find that I am questioning all of this. And the reason is Reiki...
More to follow.... December 10 BloggingOk,
So this is the latest in an occasional series of blog entries from yours truly, but I always think that if you have nothing to say, then say nothing.
The winter holdiay is fast approaching, and we're all in freefall spending mode.
I hope that all of you have a great time. I'm postponing it by one day, as Leicestershire Police once again do their very best to wreck the holiday for me by rostering me on duty for the 25th AGAIN!!! I worked out when I am rostered for that day off, and it'll be 2010 before I have the day off without using any of my holiday.
I know that I could book it off about 18 months in advance, but why should I. For an employer that always bangs on about being fair and just it always falls short of treating it's employees in a fair and just manner. But I suppose it wouldn't be the same without the hypocracy and double standards, now would it.
